Étude.

Terms.

Last updated 7 October 2026

The agreement between you and Étude. Short, because training should take longer than reading this.

Who you are agreeing with

Étude is operated by Howard Nedd, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 84742909, trading as Étude. Using the app or this website means you accept these terms.

What the service is

Étude is a training journal: it helps you log workouts, follow routines, time your rest and see your progress. With an account, it keeps your journal safe and in step across your devices. We may improve it over time.

You must be at least 16 to use Étude. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Your journal is yours

Everything you log belongs to you. We do not sell it, mine it, or use it to train anything. We hold it so the service can work, and we delete it when you ask.

Train sensibly

Étude records training; it does not give medical advice. The routines in the app are general examples, not a programme designed for you. Check with a doctor before starting a new or harder training routine, and stop if something hurts.

Fair use

Do not use Étude to break the law or to attack the service. We can suspend an account that does, and we will say why.

What we promise, and what we do not

We will make a reasonable effort to keep Étude available and working, and to keep your journal safe.

We cannot promise it will never be unavailable or never have a fault. The service is provided as it is. We are not liable for indirect losses, and where we are liable our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or our own fraud.

Ending it

You can stop using Étude and delete your account whenever you like, from inside the app. We can end the service with reasonable notice, and we will give you a way to export your journal first.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the courts of Amsterdam, unless the law of the country you live in gives you the right to go to your own courts.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app.
